Falling Down
It started with me bussing up north to Edmonton, and my aunt picked me up at the bus depot, then we went to the mall, it was grand. We were going to go and watch a movie, but we were both too tired. So we went to the house, and then saw my uncle. He went to bed and then my aunt and I stayed up wrapping presents. It was a good time. In the morning, I was awoken by my likke cousin, it was kind of cute, but annoying at the same time. So I got up, it was my uncles Bday, and in the morning, he and I went to the store, to buy some groceries in the jeep. It was amusing, we went to park, and my uncle decided it would be funny to drive over the curb, and scare the crap out of me. So he did. And it was grand. Then we went for lunch, and then I took the kidlets ice skating, it was so great, cause I was there, tying Bobbys skates up, and it just reminded me of all the times Glen took Aleta and I skating, and he'd have to tie up my skates. (Aleta's Dad) It was a random moment of reminiscing.
So we skated, and I've never had more fun, Alexis was very independant, she skates like a pro, and I was so proud of her. Then Bobby, it was the cutest thing, he'd hold onto a bar, and then try to skate, and he'd look like he was running, but he wouldn't move an inch, and Then he'd give up and sit down.. It was amazing fun. I'd push him across the ice, and he'd giggle like mad, and then he'd want to sakte without the bar, and he would take these little baby steps, and fall over, then his big sister would come to help him up, and they'd both fall back over, laughing their heads off. I got some good videos of it.. After that, I drove the kids to wal-mart and bought them each a belt.. just cause.. And we went back home and had a huge dinner thing for uncle david's bday. It was nice. Then, Me, Uncle David and Auntie Jana went to go see the Narnia movie, it was fun.
Umm Sunday morning.. oh sunday morning! It was glorious, we went to Alexis's ringette game, and it was great to see these six year old kids with more talent for ringette than i'll ever have. I was so proud of my likkle girl.. Her jersey Number was "Samson 19"
It was a grand day.. Then we all went to the mall, and I spent most of the time with the kids in the amusement park, while David and Jana did their xmas shopping, and I didnt mind, It was great, cause they're just such good kids..
So that was that for that. Sunday night, I went to see my aunt play soccer, and I dont know how she managed it, when she constantly complains about pain in her back, but she did, and she was good. It was fun..
Monday morning, I woke up when Alexis decided she wanted to cuddle with me, and let me tell you, she has some of the worlds worst morning breath. It was amusing.. She came down at six in the morning, i tried to get her to go back to sleep, but that didnt happen, no sah!
So that day, Uncle David and I went, with Bobby, to return some bottles and cans, to get his hair cut! It was so cute, he sits up straight in the chair, like nobodys business, and just smiles the whole time, until he gets hair in his mouth, and then he pouts, but he still loves getting his hair cut. Anyways.. then I left that afternoon, it was sure nice to see them..
So here I am now, today was my last Missions class, my last Cultural Perspectives class, and my last Pentateuch class! It was amazing grand. I got 90% on both my papers, and 95% on my reading and reflection (all 10 pages of it, goodness me)
I also got a great mark on my Christian Spirituality paper, now all i have to worry about is CP..
Two more classes for the semester, and only four exams to worry about.
So I was listening to POD today, for some reason, and I was paying attention to the Lyrics.. Now, I've always thought that POD was a christian Band, and some aspects of the band, (their name, for instance) still suggest that. But I got really confused. POD mentions the name "JAH" in at least half of their songs. Now I've tried many times, with my history, to pass off the word Jah as another name for my God, but I've never gotten away with it... In the CD cover thingy, a couple of the singers praise Jah.. there's a song called "without Jah, nothin' " and so Im just a bit confused. are they christians who just happen to call God Jah? Or are they like.. rastas who believe in Jesus.. I mean, two of the boys have dreds.. I dont know.. Is there such a thing as a christian rasta? I emailed Duane, my old youth pastor, because he loved POD, and he's.. well.. my youth pastor.. So I'm hoping he'll have some insight, and if you do, feel free to comment, cause it'll probably help me..
Umm for now, I'm going to go cause It's nearly midnight, and i gots class in the morning.
Much Love
Forever

I woke up this morning, and began to get ready for the day, the one I was planning to spend at the school, finishing up all my papers that are due tomorrow. I made myself a couple of sandwiches, and was on my way out the door, when the phone rang.
My aunt from Edmonton said that my mom was going to head to Edmonton for the weekend, because my uncle is having a hard time (due to the death of my uncle two months ago) It’s his birthday on Saturday, and I guess it’s just a hard time for all. So she proceeded to ask me if Mike and I could head up to Edmonton for the weekend, for us to be together during this hard time.
For me, it would have been no problem. But there is just so much going on that it sometimes seems impossible to get away. This is the last week of the fall semester of College, and so many things are due, exams are coming up, and stress is building. Plans fell through, things are crazy, and mom isn’t going to go to Edmonton anymore. So Mike and I were still going to go, but then he decided that he had too much going on this weekend for him to be able to go. But I’m still going to go. I mean, I had to work, but I’ve switched shifts with one of the girls there.
During all this confusion and stress, I’ve made some observations about family, ours in particular. I don’t know, it’s sort of random, but it’s also important, some of the things I’ve noticed.
To make it plain and simple.. no matter how far away our family is from each other, we are so tight. Unless it’s absolutely impossible, we are willing to drop everything, and come together to support one another. I mean, even though it was so financially impossible for all of us, we all headed out to Nova Scotia together to share in our grief in October. It was not necessary for all of us kids to go, but.. we did.. Because it was important that the family be together.
I don’t know, this has been one of the hardest years ever. What with my dad getting sick, and so much more. But we are still a family, still standing together. My uncle’s birthday in November, which I am thankful that I was home for, was pretty hard to deal with. I mean, does that make sense? No one wants to celebrate their birth so soon after the death of a loved one. And it’s the same for My uncle in Edmonton. He needs us right now.
The family feels like we shouldn’t be celebrating, because Uncle Derrick isn’t here anymore to celebrate with us. Even though it’s hard, We need to move on. I mean, It’s not easy for me to say that, I don’t want you to think that I’ve just shrugged off everything that’s happened. I still hurt every day, and even typing this out is hard to deal with. I still miss him every day, but I know that Uncle Derrick, if he knew he was going to die, he would have said to us, not to be sad, not to stop celebrating things that are meant to be celebrated. Uncle Derrick was a happy man. He loved celebrating. He would not want us to just stop everything, to stop being happy. He would not want that. I know that the family has to go through the grieving process. I know that we need to cry once in awhile, I know that it’s ok to miss him. But I also know that it’s ok to go on living life as well.
This is going to be a very difficult Christmas this year. We, as in my mom, dad, brother and I, are going to be spending our first Christmas in Ladner in a long time. When I first found out, my reaction was that my Christmas is going to suck, because everyone’s going to be crying and depressed. And that was really, really selfish of me. I am ashamed to say that I even thought that, let alone said it to my mom. This is going to be the time that we need to be together the most, because we are all still hurting. We need to be together, to be there to cry, to laugh, to do whatever it is we need to do. But we have to do it together. And we will, too. This is what I’ve learned about our family in the past while. Sure, we fight, we have our times, but in the end.. in the end we are family.. Nothing can take that away from me, not pain of death, not anything. We’ll hurt together this Christmas, and perhaps long after that. We’ve hurt together in the past. We’ll have to do it again.
But the point is that we’ll do it together…
That’s all I have to say for now about that.
I love you all very much, and I hope that everything goes well for you in the next little while. Thanks for listening to me.

Wierd!
Ok you know what's even wierder than pics of Jesus? Ummm I just tried to save my paper, and the computer, as well as all the computers around me were like.. "There is not enough memory to save the project.." And then all the sudden.. It just worked. Im confuzzled.! ! ! !
Ok so enough of that..
Things are wierd today.. I'm wierd today.. I need sleep, but i'll probs be up all night. So feel free to give me a call. Can't garuntee that I'll be home cause I'm still at the library, and probs will be for the next while.
So anyways.. Now that i've managed to vent into a blog, I'm going back to writing papers.
So best of evenings to you!

you'd need me
I'd be there every time...
But for now I'll look so longingly

Chronic Procrastonitis
Right now, I should be working on papers, but I've been doing that all day, and I've made a fair amount of progress, so I'm taking a break, and blogging. As I sit here, I tried to listen to music on my headphones, but this guy is sitting behind me and playing the guitar, and it's kind of annoying, cause he sucks! So yeah, that's what I'm dealing with..
Sunday night was the christmas banquet.. I had an overall great time, I got pictures taken with tons of hotties.. (according to Alison) Either way, it was fun shiz. We all looked amazing, except Shaunna made me wear red lipstick, and it was just so dark.. I mean, it looked ok, I was just a bit uncomfortable cause I never wear red lipstick. And that was that.. But I did get alot of great photographs from the evening, it was just a great amount of fun! The food was amazing, I've never before gotten second helpings of vegitables if I could help it, but they were yummilicious! And yeah.. To be perfectly honest, the MC's or.. whatever.. the people who were in charge of talking and announcing were kind of slow paced, and not too great at keeping the attention of the crowd.. But oh well. I enjoyed the slide show and the music though. It was well done.
Ohh I just sneezed and this really cute boy just said bless you.. I love it when that happens.
Hahahah off topic much!
Ummm things that don't involve school: I've been trying for the past two weeks to get ahold of Treston, with no luck, but then again, it's not just his phone, I cant seem to get through to anyone in Jamaica. See, Treston just bought a new phone, so there's no reason for it not to be working, except for DigiCel, the phone company.. it just doesnt seem to be working. Which is really irritating. And speaking of irritating, someone from Jamaica has been calling at my home phone number in Vancouver, at all hours of the night trying to get ahold of me, when he full knows that I live in Calgary! It's really ridiculous, and irresponsible, not to mention annoying! I mean, if it was treston, cause he lost my calgary number, and if it was a decent hour, no problem, but it's not, it's not, and it's not ok! I dont know, I just wish some people would take a hint and stop calling me, y'understan? Of course, I had to call him and tell him to stop calling my mom.. I mean, he called one time at four in the morning. That's not even remotely cool. Anyways. Enough about that. It looks like class just let out, and so lots of people are coming in here, making noise, but it's ok cause I'm not working on school work right now anyways.
Oh goodness. It has been quite cold here, So cold that I wear my PJ pants underneath my jeans, because by the time I get to school, my legs are numb, and that's not cool.
After the Christmas banquet, I went for a walk with a friend of mine, and it was so cold outside, that by the time we got back (we walked a fairly long way) my legs were so red adn frozen that I felt like they were going to fall off. It was not pleasant. Thus making the decision to not go out again without wearing two pairs of pants. I am actually quite tired right now. I have been working on school work since 1, and it's now four. I've only gotten one and a half papers done, it's just so distracting here. But res is no better, because I have no internet, and the computers downstairs don't have microsoft word.. so they're useless.
I have all sorts of excuses today, don't I? But it's true. I don't quite know what's keeping me from concentrating right now.. But oh well. Right now I'm really thankful that I'm not working tonight.. I usually do, but If I was, I would be up all night on wednsday. I might be anyways.. But we'll see. We shall see.
For now, I'm going to avoid procrastonating any further, so off I go..
Back to work.
Much love for now and ever

"I've never seen you looking so gorgeous as you did tonight
I've never seen you shine so bright, you were amazing
I've never seen so many people want to be there by your side
And when you turned to me and smiled,
It took my breath away
I have never had such a feeling
Such a feeling of complete and utter love
as I do tonight "

Im wearing a pink sweater today
You know what's funny? I made fun of Crystal for buying Long Johns, because I didnt think it would ever be necissary, but now I am considering buying them. Every time my dad said "you're gonna need long johns" I was hoping that he was teasing me. But he sure wasnt. So When I go outside, the top half of my body is always warm enough because I wear a shirt, a sweater, and a gigantic jacket, and it's great. My hands, always covered in gloves, and my face, usually protected by the scarf I pull up over my nose, and my ears covered, almost always, by headphones and a hood. So that's not bad. But then I only have on a pair of jeans, and it get's so cold that I feel like my legs are going to fall off. So I'm going to start wearing sweatpants over my jeans on the way to anywhere, until I can get some long-john thingers. I feel like an icicle right now. It's so cold.
Two nights ago, at midnight, my brother called me and asked if I had any black make up that he could borrow. So I gave it to him, completely confuzzled.
Yesterday was my relax day.. I got home from classes and decided to do some drawing and coloring.. for something.... never mind what.. But it was my relax night. and I got felt all over my fingers. But halfway through, matt russell came into my apartment and asked me if I had any nail polish remover, cause he dressed up as a goth the other day, in honor of no-shave november ending. and he shaved his head, and it was scary, cause he actually looked like a goth. So anyways, he came into my apartment, and I did the best I could to get my nail polish off of his fingernails. It was so amusing. I found out what mike needed my make-up for. Matt actually did a good job with the make-up, I was impressed, and wondering why he was able to do such a good job with it.
But aside from that, I have a busy weekend ahead of me! I'm going to go christmas shopping tomorrow morning, and then tomorrow afternoon, I'm going to work on two of the four papers that I have due within the week. So If I get those finished, I'll be quite happy, and then I'll work on the other two sunday, possibly. We shall see. Either way, I will get them done, it's just a matter of when. So Sunday night is the christmas banquet, and I am quite excited, aside fom not having a date, it's going to be a fun event.
This guy asked my roomie last night, to go to the banquet with him, and then... he asked her what her name was.. I'm pretty sure that made her decision for her. I was amused by that.
You know what I am excited for? Getting fitted for my ... pink... dress for the wedding! IT's going to be fun, I love dresses. Umm what else. I want to get my hair braided in january, hopefully my auntie will be able to do it for me.
Ok, well I have nothing else to say, except that it's cold here.
I love ya'll!
Much Love

Ten Days....
So here I am. I got two papers done, now I have about four more to do, and a whole heap of reading. Last week I was watching the news on TV, and they did a story on "Crack Corner", which we all like to refer to as Crack Max, which is a block away from where I live. It's reportedly the most dangerous corner in all of Downtown, and I get to walk by it each day.
Woo Hoo!
You know what I've been doing lately? Listening to really relaxing music.. It's been good.
This blog has no structure wahtsoever. I'm sorry it's so random, but I just haven't been feeling good at all for the past likkle while, and so... I just can't even organize my thoughts today..
OH, cara's here, it's been nice to see her. SAturday, I made turkey dinner for a dozen people, it was a truly enjoyable experience. I mean, of course, It wasn't as good as anything my mom can make, but I did my best, and it was alot of fun too. Actually, I got a little stressed out, cause I couldn't get the gravy to thicken, but all ended well. I was happy.. Chris gave me flowers for making them dinner, they're very pretty.
And.. Ummm... I dont know what else a go on, I'm here, I'm making this short because I need to head over to class, and I'm not feeling well. .. I know, excuses excuses, but you wouldn't be thinking that if you could only see my futile attempts to get up out of a chair without pain..
IT sucks!
Hey mike, let's go see a doctor or something>
Anyways.. I'm out for now

Don't you rock my boat
My past week has been incredibly peaceful and relaxing. I came home for reading break, which was not planned at all, I just called my parents and said "I need to come home" and to be honest, it was a bit selfish of me, because finances are tight at the mo, but... I dunno, I just needed to get away from everyting fi a likkle bit. Anyways. So here I am. I got home wednsday, and called my mom from the airport, and I told her that she might not recognize me.. I put on my wig from hallowe'en, and it was amusing. The look on her face was priceless, though she'll tell you that I didnt fool her, I think I did. So Wednsday, my mom and I took Karika (our neighbor girl) to the mall, just because mom was babysitting her, and we could. So blah.. We did that, and it was fun. Oh, around six, I went over to Tricias house and knocked on the door, of course I had on my wig, and so it took her awhile to recognize me. It was amusing.. After that, Whit and I paid a visit to NSA youth group, which was a bit of a waste.. Never mind that..
Thursday we chilled out, it was great, mom and I decorated for christmas, everyting but the tree, naturally. I hung out for a bit with Tricia and her mom and Diago, it was fun. I never realized how much I would miss them. So that was that.. On Friday morning, my whole fam damily was due to visit, and of course, they had no idea I was home. So I went out with Sam, and then around 10am I came home, I walked in the door, and I said "Hey, how come I wasn't invited?" and my grandmother turned around and said.... Well .. never mind what she said, but it was shocking for a catholic woman.. She made me laugh quite alot.. But needless to say, they were all quite happy and suprised to see me. My grandfather started crying, but in the kitchen, where he thought I wouldnt be able to see him.. Sappy Samson, that he is. Anyways... Friday was a nice day, a good visit in general with the family, it was my uncles bday, along with rememberance day. Fancy that.. Saturday, mom and I were going to organize the basement, but we decided against that.. It was too much work, and so we went out for dinner, and then Tricia and I had this great adventure.. (NOT).. We went to the movie theatre, and were going to see "Get rich or die tryin", and so we went to buy our tix, and they said that we needed ID to get into the movie, and of course, Tricia didnt haev ID, and so we were kind of mad, and so we got back to the cove, and got our ID, and then headed back to the second movie, which started at ten. Overall, it was kind of worth it to get back to the theatre, but not really at the same time. As I've said many times before, singers should not try to be actors, and actors should not try to be singers... Plain and Simple. But Kurtis Jackson is damn hot, so it was worth it. The movie was really extremely gangsta, I liked it, but Mike, I do not suggest you see it. Not like you needed to hear that from me, I'm sure you already made the decision not to spend any money pon it, but oh well. Guess what happens on Friday.. Go on Guess. HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE..Of course, I've learned by now not to expect too much from the HP movies, because it's hard to squish 789 pages into a feature length film, and so I guess much will be left out, but we shall see, shant we..?
Anyways.. Today I went to church, and got to meet baby Dylan, he's such a sweetie. Also, I uploaded a bunch of music to my computer, only to realize that it wont burn onto a CD, so I've put it all on my Mp3 Player, and now I'm going to take my cord home, put it pon mikes computer and then burn it to disks, then delete it.. Also, I've decided to allow mike the use of my Mp3 player while he goes to the gym, cause with my cord, he can take the crappy music off of it.. I'm alright with that... For now.
So anyways.. Im'a peace for now, aiite.?
Have a great night, I'll update once again from calgary, as I go back to school tomorrow evening.
Much love Forever

Speaking of...
So at work the past week, we've been instructed to ask the customers if they'd be willing to donate a looney to send special olympians to the olympics in Manitoba. A looney, right? Not a big deal. But you'd be suprised how many people just say "No", and even better, how many poeople try to make up excuses about it. It just baffles me how people come in to staples, spend hundreds of dollars on themselves, and then refuse to spend a dollar on someone else. I dont know, it just amazes me that so many people are so selfish. People come in, spend two bucks, and when I ask them about it, they say no, and then hand me a twenty dollar bill, and get 18 dollars change. And then they buy a pack of gum for themselves, which is more expensive than a dollar.. I dont know, it's just an observation. People are generally selifish. But then there's the people who'll give five bucks.. It's wierd.
I dont know, and then I was thinking.. "Would I give money?" I think I would, to be honest, if I had it. It just seems like the right thing to do.
Sunday was my worst day with people giving money, cause they just wouldnt. When I was talking with one of my co-workers, she said, in all seriousness, that it was because they had all jsut come from church, and they gave money to the church, and dont want to give to anyone else. That struck me as odd, cause you'd think that the people just coming from church would be most likely to give.. But after that, every person who said no, I thought.. did she/he just come from church?
Anyways.. Those are my random musings for the day..
Think about it.. Would you give a dollar? ? ?

Special Olympics
I had a job interview yesterday, for a nannying job. The lady called me today and said that I couldn't commit for long enough, so she hired someone else. That kind of makes me mad, because she made the interview sound really promising. So I was all psyched for it. But there's nothing I can do about it, I guess.. I just have to keep my staples job a likkle bit longer. Oh well. I'll survive. Speaking of staples, I had a horrible day today. About fifteen minutes into my shift, this guy comes up, and says "Can you call 9-1-1?" and then basically falls to the floor, shaking..
He told me that he suffers from grand mall seizures, and then said "I dont want to die" ..
That's dramatic enough, I think it's worse for me, because that's basically what caused my uncle to pass away less than a month ago. So I was pretty shaken up by that. I didn't enjoy that experince at all.
Needless to say.. It was a bad day, even tho it was good before work. But I havent been able to get that out of my head since then... Just things., my uncle and stuff.
By the way, my parents put up the outside christmas lights, and me and my roomies bought a christmas tree. It's fun

44 Days!
I havent updated in the last couple of days simply becuase I haven't had much to write about. I dont know if I have alot to say today, but the need for an update seemed fairly obvious to me.
So Hallowe'en was interesting, well.. as interesting as working at staples would allow it to be.
I dressed up like Amy Lee, hair and all, it was fun, and I had a fairly average night. No one came trick-or treating, which made me sort of sad, but it's staples.. who trick or treats at staples right? Anyways.. So my hallowe'en was uneventful, as I knew it would be. I recently found out about a job oppurtunity for bbsitting once a week, 80$ a day.. That's a good deal, and if it goes way out past Christmas, into april, I'm down for it. Also, if I get that job, I might give my notice to staples just two weeks before I want to go home for Christmas, because I've discovered a few things about them...
1. I don't like working there
2. They dont want to give me that much time off at christmas
3. I don't like working there
Get my point? Umm. I dunno.. We'll see what happens. I mean, if they arent going to give me the time off to Go home at christmas, I'm not staying in Calgary to work.. No sir..
ANYWHOOOO!
Yesterday, Crystal and I cleaned the apartment from top to bottom, we mopped, we vaccumed in corners we didn't know existed, and we took down the fall decorations, replacing them with Christmas ones. We haven't gone too far out with that sort of thing yet, but soon we will. I feel sorry for Crystal, because she's not as big of a christmas fanatic as Shaunna or I.. We must drive her nuts. Oh well.. Too bad for her.
You know what's awesome? Chris Boelke is buying an artificial Christmas tree, and letting us use it till we go home for Christmas. It's awesome, I can't wait. Hopefully that happens soon..
Anyways..
Im starting to get excited about Costa Rica.. It's going to be an awesome experience.. I hope..
Anyways.. I need to peace for now, I've got class pretty soon. Yay for Tim Moore's class!
It's gonna be great. I hope.. Hey Whitney Shrieves, guess what!? There's 44 Days till Christmas!
So anyways, much love forever

Encroyable!
You know how last blog, I was all discoraged and such?
After I wrote that update, God had some simple, yet really encouraging things in store for me.
Shaunna came home from her party, and decided that we should all have a pillow fight. It was the most fun I've had in awhile, and when all was said and done, we fell to the ground laughing. It was such a simple thing, and we had such a great time together, me, shaunna, crystal and stephanie. Something like that.. so simple. I went to bed around 1:30 Am, it was good, and I didnt manange to get to sleep until about 2:20, I was laying in bed listening to Celine Dion. Not even joking you. I've become a bit of a dork since I've moved here. But if it encourages you at all, I bought TOK CD the other day, and that's Reggae. So I'm still me. Just with a bit more wierdness than usual.
OK So this morning, I had two mid-terms. Intro to the bible was the one I was actually worried about, but it turned out to be a very easy exam, it was all multiple choice. If all exams were all multiple choice all the time, I would be so happy. Well, mabye not math, cause that just confuses me. But there's no reason that I would be in a math course to begin with, so blah to that idea.
Anyways, I got out early from Intro to the bible, cause it was tres simple. Then I went to check my mailbox, and got a few things. A really asian-style letter from whitney, including japanese candies that fizz in my mouth as I type, a halloween card from my auntie Ellie and Uncle Mike, and a random encouragement card from Pete and Jude sattler. Plus, I got back my Paper that I wrote for Tim Moore, with a perfect mark on it, which was also encouraging because of some of the comments he wrote on it. Awesome. You know, I possibly would have had those things a couple of days ago, were it not for the fact that I forgot my keys at res. I think God has a perfect plan for me, he knew I would need those letters today, not a couple of days ago, and so I left my key at home. I dont know, usually, when a person is in the middle of exams, they're stressed out and crusty, but today, I feel really encouraged. Jude sent me five buckeroos in the letter, I think I'm going to go and get a piece of pizza for lunch.. This fizzy candy is wierd... Umm yeah..
I have the hic-up's.. it's annoying cause I have no change to buy a drink. Oh well.
Oh you know what's awesome? It's totally not even hallowe'en yet, but two days ago, when I bought my wig, I also bought outdoor christmas lights, and they're totally awesome, we put them on the balcony, and they look incredible. Soon enough, we will have the tree and lights and everyting inside. I can't wait. How many days till christmas whit? It's your turn to keep track fi me.
Anyways.. I love you all very much, but I seem to have run out of things to say. For now, I'm out.
Much love forever:

Travelling Soldier
I am tired today. I don't have much to say, except for a few likkle things.
Here's the deal. I worked yesterday, and I absoloutely hated it, but today I had a blast right down to the stinking end.. I wonder what that's about?
And here's another deal. I am seriously considering cutting my hair.. Not super super short, but like.. shoulder length. If you know me, it sounds gross, but it wouldnt be if I straightened it every day.. What do you think? You'll have to see a pic I took, of what it would look like if I cut it.
What else... Well I don't really know. I am really missing everone today, it's kind of making me sad. I have two mid-terms tomorrow.. Do you think I've studied yet?
Mmm no.
I dont know what else to say today. I think that I might need some prayers of encouragement.. I dunno.. It's one of those days..
Peace out for now

Kung Fu and mystery music.
Suprisingly, I'm as caught up as I'm going to be, and everything for all my classes is settled. I have a two week extension for my pentateuch stuff, tho I don't really need it, I'll hand my stuff in ASAP.. I have a three day extension for my cultural perspectives miterm, which could be better, but it's not bad. I handed in my spirituality paper, and now I feel better. I checked my school email for the first time today, and promptly realized that that makes it five different email addresses. Woo hoo. There's only two that I really use, but I still check every single one.
So sunday was spent cleaning, and writing letters. I wrote 10 letters, it was a grand old time. Sunday night, I went walking with Crystal and Alison, and I found the most perfect spot to chill, it kind of made me happy. Anyways... Enough of that..
Monday was a gorgeous day, I woke up and had some breakfast, then Mike and I went shopping for groceries to fill his empty cupboards. With that accomplished, I did some errands on my own time. I went to staples and finally gave them my account information, so that they can give me money. That's a good thing. Then after that, Iwent to mail all the letters that I'd written the day before, and then I went to buy some calling cards, which should last me through to the end of November, if I'm good. Then I went to HMV, just because I could. I was so excited, because they had a whole huge thing full of DVD's for only 4.99, and I've been looking all over for cheap DVD's for Treston. Not just any DVD's either, Kung Fu ones. I know, it's terrible. However terrible I think they are, I found four DVD's that he'll like, and that made me really happy. Then I went over to the pop section of the CD's and I bought a CD for him as well. I'm not going to tell you what the CD is, because it's potentially embarrassing. With that said, you'll never guess what the CD was.. Ha ha. Anyways, I'm pretty much done with Trestons Christmas present, I had to get it so early because it takes like a month in the mail to get there, so I have to mail it soon enough. I am really happy that I found all that. So after all my shopping experiences, I went back to the res, and chilled for awhile. I wrapped Trestons presents in christmas wrapping paper, which made me even happier. Haha..
I decided that I was going to make a good dinner yesterday, so I made chicken cutlets and pasta and then Crystal made brocoli and cheese, and all in all it was great.
Today is my first day back to class after the long week I had last week, and I got everything caught up, and so now I just have to wait 'till my next class, which isn't until 2:30..
Tomorrow and the day after, there are no classes, we have missions emphasis days, and I'm kind of excited about it, because they'll be better than any of the missions classes I've ever been to. ANYWAYS!
I'm going to go for now, cause I need to study for my mid-terms.
Sorry this is so short and random.. I'll talk more when I can think more..

Go Canucks Go!
I woke up extremely early this morning, it was kind of annoying, but I guess that's what I get for going to bed at nine thirty. But I did indeed need it. It was a nice sleep, I didnt get up once. But once I got up at 8:30 am, I found that I could not go to sleep, so I began doing what I do best out here in calgary, and that was : clean my apartment. In the midst of all that cleaning, I managed to spend six bucks on two loads of laundry, so it was upstairs and downstairs, upstairs and downstairs, all while scourging my apartment.
It was a long flight yesterday, back from Nova Scotia, Alexis sat with us for some of the way from Halifax to Toronto, and then we continued our trek to Calgary without them. When I got back yesterday, Crystal and Sarah (an off campus sister) had just woken up, it appears that Shaunna had gone away for the weekend. Anyways, so I went into the apartment, and the first thing I did was to shower. It was nice, there was even hot water! So yesterday, I pretty much slept from noon until dinner time, and then I unpacked everything, and had some amazing perogies with Crystal and Allison, and then I painted a little ceramic christmas decoration, and then copied some notes from classes I had missed, and then went right back to bed. It was pleasant. So my laundry should be almost done, then I'm going upstairs to fold it and get ready for brunch with my dear brother micheal. Open dorms starts at one, so he'll be up just in time with some hashbrowns and eggs, while I make Bacon and toast. Should be good. I feel like I had a really good morning, because I like it when my apartment is clean, and it's pretty much the cleanest I've ever seen it. last night I was going to go to see a movie with Crystal and Allison, but it started at 10, and I figured that I would be wayyyy to tired to do that, and I was right.
Hey the canucks won last night, my brother just informed me.. I like how the titel of my blog relates to one sentence within it. Hahah ..
Oh well.
So not much else has changed, I'm back in Calgary, and word has it that Cara is coming for a visit! That makes me happy. Hey it was all frosty this morning. Man alive, winter's on it's way! You know that it's almost halloween? That means that It's almost november, which means that it's amost december, and you all know what that means!
Ok well I'm going to go fold some laundry, I love you all, and chances are, I miss you too! Oh and By the way, Happy Birthday Diago..

Bloody Cold!
I feel strangely disconnected from the world today. I woke up this morning and I packed everyting up and went over to my nen's house.. (That means Godmother, that's what I call her)
(don't ask me, it's nova scotia, ok?) Anyways, we pretty much chilled the whole mornin, and then had to say goodbye so we could drive out to Halifax, so we could get to the airport early in the morning tomorrow. It was a long drive, but oh well. I survived, and now we're all at our cousin Nolons house, waiting for tomorrow to come.
It's been a wierd week, and really really hard too. But the bad was somewhat balanced with the positive, because nova scotia is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been..
The funeral was a sad affair, but I managed to do my reading without choking on my words or tears. Micheal did a wonderful speech as well. All in all, it was the most emotional event I've had to deal with in a long time.
The day after the funeral, my mom and I headed up on the cape with my great uncles quad (ATV) and it was amazing. It was a perfect sunny morning, and there wasn't too much wind, but the ocean.. it was amazing... I can't wait to show you the pictures. People said that I shouldn't take my camera to such an event, but I knew that Nova Scotia was gorgeous, and so I did. The water.. it's just endless forever.. It makes me feel so peaceful to just sit on the cape and watch the atlantic ocean crash to the shore, and look at the lighthouse on the island in the distance. It's amazing. When I went to NS two summers ago, I sat there for hours writing and just watching the water. It's amazing.. I don't think I can say that enough. My mom was so lucky to grow up in such an amazing place.. Ahh!
So now, my week has come to an end. It's almost wierd to think about leaving and going back to calgary, I wish so much that I was just going home to north vancouver. It's sucky how much I miss it, even tho I've been here in Nova Scotia with all my family, it's not the same.
I don't know what the deal is with me, I have so much to say, but at the same time, I'm at a loss for words. I think mabye I'm still in shock, I'm still numb.. It's like nothing has really been happening, but I know that I have to go back to calgary, and catch up on so much work. It's going to stress me out so much, I almost just want to stay here. Then again... Hahahha...
So there's 21 of us here tonight, in Lower Sackville just outside of halifax, in this tiny little house. It's going to be interesting, but I shottied the couch, so it'll be alright.
It's my grandma's birthday tomorrow, which I think will be really difficult for her, because uncle derrick won't be calling her.. Arg, things are just retarded. I was just thinking, My uncle and I had a fight ( a huge one ) a little over a year back, and we didn't talk for a long while. I am so glad now that we forgave each other, because I know for sure that I would not have been able to live with myself if I had not forgiven him, or he had not forgiven me before this happened. If it was hard to deal with now, It would have been 20X harder if we were fighting. Ahh..
So what else.. My aunt paid me 40$ to give her a massage this week. It was enjoyable, for her and me, cause money is always great fun.
Ok, you know what I noticed? Out here in Nova Scotia, people are NUTS for halloween! They decorate for it like I would decorate for Christmas! IF you know me, then you must be shocked right now! It's nuts! That was that. ... Ok, not as big of a deal as I thought.
I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow. We head to the airport at around 5:30 am, (Icky) and then start the trek to Calgary. We stop in toronto, but aparently we don't get off the plane..
Ugg. I dont know what else to say. I'm exhausted right now, so I'm going to end this for now.
I love you all..
Love forever

The sky falls and you feel like it's a beautiful day.
Well It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood! That is to say, it's a nice day in Calgary. The sun is shining, and everybody's happy. I woke up this morning, and had a niiice hot shower, which is rare, because there is rarely any hot water left by 7:30 am, because everyone has classes, and everyone wants to shower. But Nonetheless, I had a hot shower, and I had some burnt toast for breakfast, which wasn't as bad as it sounds, and then I headed out to missions class, which I am beginning to despise, only cause of the bloody geography tests! But that bitterness aside, I've been having a good day. After my class this morning, I chilled for a bit in the lounge, attempted to write my (due today) Pentateuch paper, and failed miserably, because I forgot my textbook, and so yeah. I didn't get that finished until I went home for lunch, wrote my answers on a piece of paper and then came back here to finish it up. It's actually impressive, I should leave assignments to the last minute more often.. (NOT)
So I went to check my mailbox, and there was a note that said I got TWO packages! I was expecting one, but the other one, I wasn't so sure about. So I went to go get the boxes, and it turns out one of them was full of winter goodies (Boots, gloves, a scarf and a toque) and the other one was another box of winter goodies (Candles!) They are so pretty, I am so spoiled.
Mom also sent me Archie comics, which come in handy here, when things are boring.
So yeah, here I am. I was hoping that some people would be on MSN but alas, no one is online. I had a really good lunch today, I had a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, and a sausage roll from safeway. It was yumms. I resisted all temptation to buy a piece of pizza along with a couple of other people from my school, and I resisted well. My cupboards are full, and so I will eat at home only from now on. 'Sides I don't want to waste any money on things I don't need.
Speaking of things I don't need, I'm going to send some crap home that I'm not using, so that I don't have to bother with it at the end of the year. We aren't sure how April is going to look, but I got to get my stuff home somehow, so the less stuff I have, the better!
I have class in half an hour, but I don't feel like going. Of course I'm going to go, I rushed the paper that's due today for it anyways! So I'm going to Pentateuch soon enough. The paper was all about the exodus and the plagues and stuff, so the lyrical adventure for the day is from Metallica, and it directly relates to it! Although it is kind of creepy. Oh well..
For now, I'm going to go and write some emails.
Much love forever!
Love always: Shle

Turkeys, Stars and Cars.
Mine was full of so much stuff, I don't even know where to start. First, we drove to Vermilion, Alberta, and let me tell you, I kind of love that little town. When I was just a little kidlet, I always wanted to live on a farm and be able to see for miles and miles, and watch the stars at night. So here I was in small town Vermilion, and I could see for miles, (mind, Cara don't live on no farm) but the stars were incredible. I enjoyed it. And there were these cats everywhere, so cute, but kind of all over you, you know what I mean? But I love kitties. I almost wanted to take one back to res, but I didn't think Chris or my roomies would have liked that. You know what was fun? Cara has one of those old school Nintendos, with like the first Mario games, and they were so much fun. I've always wanted one of those, but I know that if I had one in my room, I would get EVEN LESS work done than I usually do.. That wouldn't be good at all.
So Friday night, we went out for dinner at the towns fancy restaurant, called Tuscany.. It was pleasant. Then we watched a couple movies, Fever Pitch, and Shakespeare In Love. Both were enjoyable. Then, the next mornin, we went to Sammys for some breakfast, and consequently, some peach juice. Micheal and Cara both said it was 'off" but I enjoyed it none the less.
Some things about Vermilion. ... While I was there, I sort of made fun of it a lot, things like Vermilion Road, and other things like that, but in reality, I actually love it. Remember how (a couple of minutes ago) I said that I could see the stars and for miles and miles? It's incredible. I'm not saying that I could ever live there, but I think that if I had a way of transportation, I could definitely stay there for awhile.
Speaking of stars.. The stars remind me of God's faithfulness to us, and not just because they are there, but because of this wicked experience I had awhile back, when I worked at good ol' Camp Kawkawa. This one night, Pele (lifeguard) and I were sitting out on the beach, and I was commenting on how I had never seen a shooting star. Pele and I waited for about 20 minutes, and then Pele suggested that we pray that God send us a shooting star. The sky was so clear, it was amazing. We prayed, and about 10 minutes after that, there was a shower of shooting stars. at least 20 or more of them. It made me think real hard-like. If God would answer the simplest prayer to send shooting stars to a couple of kids working at a summer camp, (and I do believe it was God, that was no coincidence.) then think how he answers prayers about important things. God is Faithful, He will never let you down. And when God answered that prayer to me at Kawkawa, He made himself so real to me.. All of the sudden, when I saw those shooting stars, I was overwhelmed. God Loves me! Those shooting stars were a gift beyond anything I've ever gotten before. And God sent them to me. Sometimes I think it's important to remember his faithfulness to us.. *Shrugs* Just a thought.
Anyways. Saturday after breakfast, I basically just chilled with mike while Cara made us an amazing turkey dinner. It was brilliant. I played Nintendo.. It's fun.
so we had turkey, and then the next morning, we sort of went to church, but then realized that we had to leave early to make it to spruce grove in time for Auntie Jana, cause she wanted to leave by 1:30 to get to Valley View, where my Uncle David was working on a rig.
SOOOOO A long drive later, we arrived in Valley View, took uncle David out for dinner, and then chilled at the hotel, played cards ect.... The next day we drove all the way back to Calgary..
It was a long day..
So now here I am. It's the 12th of October, and it's Andrews Birthday!
SO HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDREW! ASHLEY LOVES YOU!
I woke up this morning, and the sky had this orange tint to it, it was incredible, it bathed my room in a coppery color. I woke up at eight for my eight fifteen class, and I was totally ready to skip, but since I'm such a good girl, I got up and came to the school, only to find out that The prof called in sick and so now here I am, awake when I don't have to be.
Tonight, we have a floor meeting, and tomorrow, I have to work.. It should be great.
The schools in NV are all on strike, I'm kind of jealous, but I can't complain too much, because I finish school two months before the high school kidlets do.
Soon I have to get my butt to Edmonton to get fitted for my bridesmaid dress for Mike and Cara's wedding. Speaking of the dress, you'll never guess what color it is. Yeah that's right, it's definitely going to be pink, AND Guess what!? My Aunt gave me a pink vest and I wore it yesterday! I am scaring myself. So, going from a person who never wears pink, and who actually despises the color, here we go. Things are a changin. But Believe me, I will not buy my own pink clothes .. Not yet anyways.. .. OH You know what made me really excited? I talked to Sam yesterday, he just got back from London, and It made me really happy. I miss him a lot.
I can't wait until Christmas when I can see everyone.
Wooooo hoooo..
Ok I know that this blog is quite random, but that's just what you gotta deal with when you deal with me, alright?
So for now, I'm going to peace..
I love you all!

Familial Relations and Staples!
I laughed.
This leads me to tell you that last night was indeed my first night of work. Around quarter to five, I got dressed and headed over. It was overall, an enjoyable evening. They are starting me as a cashier, then I will move into the copy centre. So I got there, got my uniform, which isn't so bad, it's red and black.. I like those colors. Ummm back on track! I got the tour of the place, and then watched the basics of bieng a cashier. Then I started ringing people through, all in all it was alot of fun. I enjoy the people I work with, the only issue I had was paging people over the loud speaker system.. I dont enjoy having tons of people hear my voice, which is why I dont like it when my godparents stick me on speakerphone. Grrs. OH WELL! This is going to be, I think, a fairly enjoyable job.
So it appears I don't have much to say about that... It was, after all, my first day. More to come on the whole staples job thing..
So I got home, put on some comfy pants, and chilled. I called some peeps, talked on the phone for about an hour (56 minutes, to be percise) to about everyone in Tricias house. It was enjoyable. My auntie audrey called me last night, which was also fun, cause she's amusing! I also talked to my gramma in ontario, and my great aunt, right here in Calgary, and some other people. It was enjoyable. Umm I aslo read the entire book of genesis yesterday instead of going to chapel (GASP!) It was actually an enlightening experience, I learned alot by it. It was an assignment, so I didn't choose to do it, but believe me, I am glad that I did. I learned alot about family conflicts, and when I think about it, the stuff we have to deal with today in our families, (some of us, at least) is nothing compared to the insane conflicts in genesis! Incest, murder, lies, slavery, seduction! it sounds like it could make a great novel! (what am I talking about, it's already a book!) Speaking of novels, WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH MYSELF?
I've been here a month, and I finished the Harry Potter series already.. Now I just dont know what to do with all my spare time! I enjoyed reading the series, it was fun. Then my roomie Shaunna, gave me a book to read, called "danger in the shadows" .. It was a christian-romance-mystery novel.. Quite the combonation, if you ask me. If you don't, too bad, I'll tell you anyways.
Not quite the Danielle Steel that I'm used to, but excellent if you ask me. I read it in two sittings, half the first day, and the other half the second one. It must have been good for me to finish that quickly.. so yeah. If any of you have any good novels that you feel like reccomending, hit me!
(NOT PHYSICALLY, SILLY!)
This blog isn't really going anywhere. OH! I forgot, Robert, you wanted me to mention you! So here you are. Hi Robert.
Incidentally, none of you (except robert) knows who robert is. He is a friend of mine from a likkle country in the caribbean, and that should be obvious to you which one it is. Enough of that.
Tomorrow morning at eight am, we, (bieng mike and I) are headed out to Vermillion, Alberta, and I am so excited about it. I've heard amazing things about the peach juice in vermillion, and so we totally have to go and get some.. If your peach juice is the best thing about your town.. then good on you for bieng proud of it! We'll just have to see if it really is as good as I've heard.
UMMMM! Ok well I'm bored of this, and it aint going nowhere, and Plus, i want to go upstairs and borrow two bucks from my lovely brother.
Much love everyone.
Have a very thanksgiving!
Love always

The world has turned and left me here
Just where I was before you appeared.
And in your place an empty space
Has filled the void behind my face.
I talked for hours to your wallet photograph
And you just listened.
You laughed enchanted by my intellect
Or maybe you didn't.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!
Kill me now, I had a whole bunch of paragraphs after this one, and then the blog decided it would erase itself.. SO Starting again... grrrr...
Friday, mike and I are headed out to Vermillion to have a thanksgiving celebration with Cara and her family, and then on sunday, we're headed to Spruce Grove, to have another thanksgiving with our family.. I am really excited to spend some time with my family.. Yes, I am admitting to missing them, family, that is.. I even miss living with my parents.. IMAGINE! So speaking of my family, Things at my permanent place of residence (Meaning Not Cow-Town) are a changing. My parents decided to get rid of the focus,.. My baby.. ahhh! And replace it with a mini-van.. Not so wierd, except for the fact that when they got rid of the mini van for the focus, it was because mike and I were older, and we no longer needed a large car.. And mom's babysitting the three kidlets from next door, (who are so cute, and I miss them too) and fostering one, possibly two babies, and there just wasn't room for them in the focus.. So it's back to the family mobile ! Speaking of cars, I just booked my road test for December, then realized that I'm not insured to drive the mini van until April.. So I can't really do the road test then can I? SO I cancelled it, which really sucks..
Speaking of no room, (in the car. We were, I promise) my family is also considering moving to a larger, somewhat more comfortable house in the future.. It is funny, because all the talk before I went to college was about how mom and dad would move to a smaller house now that we're gone, but no... A larger house it is.. Possibly with a large basement for me to take over and inhabit while I go to school and sort out my life.. Should be a lot of fun. As it goes right now, there is a crib in my room, not sure how that works, cause my room is so small, good thing Im not living there right now cause I'd be cramped up! But I really want to see Dylan (this baby they're fostering) So hopefully I will. Maybe He'll even be there at Christmas when I come home. Either way..
So not much else is new here. Oh wait, that's a lie. I got a job the other day, and I start on Wednsday.. It's at "Staples Business Depot".. I'm kind of nervous, because i have never worked in retail before, just in food and all that.. you know, Subway, KFC, The Deli.. (Ick) This is going to look fairly good on my resume, and I'm excited about it.. Nervous at the same time, tho.. Anyways.. for now, I'm going to go, I have to jet to the bank, pay my phone bill, get some direct deposit info for staples, and woo hoo!
So it's been a slice, I miss you all..
Pay attention in class, don't get caught reading my blog, whit!
I love you all!

Post number 50!
And we got home finally. It's fun, mom sent me a care package, with all my CD's that I forgot, like my BSB and NSYNC and Britney (before she became terrible) and Joseph, The Dixie Chicks, and all that fun stuff. She sent me cookie dough, granola bars, pyjamas, ect.. it's so fun.. I enjoyed the care package.. So now I'm here. This mornin, I dragged Tricias bum out of bed and we went to Intro to the bible, then we came into the computer room, chilled for a bit, I finished my proj for missions, aaaand what else? Then we went out for lunch, it was yummy, But I need to stop with the eating out. Now i'm at the school, I took tricia upstairs so I could check my mailbox, and I had two letters in it! One from my soon to be sister, cara, and one from Tricia.. I was sitting there reading the letter from Tricia, and I had to get her to explain it, cause it made no sense. OH WELL WHAT THE HE- double hockey sticks..
Now i'm going to go for now.. Cause Trishy-Fishy Kinda Squishy is bored, and so we're going to peace .. Tonight we're going to go watch some movies at the cheap theatre, should be fun..
Well, this ends the fiftieth blog.. coulda done alot better for this big huge anniversary, but for now this will have to do.
Much Love Forever

Frost on the ground, when it's supposed to be 22...
So here I am. Intro to the bible was so boring this morning, I almost couldn't handle it. Hey, yesterday I got this wicked huge package in the mail. It had a bunch of goodies in it, it kind of made me excited. So like I said before, here I am.. The weekend was fairly good, cara showed up and we had a good time. The first night, we stayed up talking until 3am, and then the next day, I had a job interview at staples business depot, which went really well, I think I have a job, and then me and mike and cara went to Kensington, which was really nice. We went to a lot of stores, which got boring by the end. We went to the pita pit for lunch, which was surprisingly good. See, I don't like wraps and things of the sort, so I didn't expect it to be so good, but in reality, it was exactly like subway, only they make their sandwiches on pitas.. So yeah.. Umm, I was going to buy this incredible poster for my apartment, But It cost 12$ and so I changed my mind.. Ugg, what else happened, oh yeah! We played "scene it" which was a lot of fun, even tho I sucked at it, and cara even beat me! (not saying nothing)
Aww, the guitar boy left. oh well. SO Sunday we chilled, went to church, sorta.. well.. we went.. then we left, cause we all needed to chat.. I guess. . and so then we played another round of "scene it" but I didn't loose too badly this time.. Obviously Mike won, but me and cara had fun times trying to beat one another.. Ummm so yeah.. I'm sitting in the computer lounge on sixth, people in my missions group were supposed to send me their missions research, so that I could make a powerpoint presentation by friday, and no one has sent their stuff yet. Im slightly annoyed, because I can't do it all on one day.. It's slightly frustrating. So yesterday there was no school, (im sorry this blog is all over the place, I guess that's how I am today..) So I sort of went to the day of prayer (sort of) and then we went (me and mike and troy) to get some CD's.. I bought Sean Paul's "Trinity" (AMAZING, BY THE WAY) and Mike got something by Ryan Adams and the cardinals.. I bet it was good.. For him... Wow.. I have issues.. I can't be all thinky today.. So here I am.. and there you are. I'm going to go find something productive to do with myself..
Love always: Shle

"Sometimes I feel like I never quite fit in
Like I'm always a little out of place
It's hard to be everything to everyone
There's so many roles I have to play
Sometimes I'm just barely hanging on
Seems like I'm always fighting to be strong
To find somewhere that I belong
But When you love me every part of me feels
Like I'm right where I'm meant to be
When you touch me you reach through to
My soul to the truest place in me
Baby in your arms I'm free
To just be me
When You love me "

My feet hurt..
Well, things in Calgary are going really well.. I have my room to myself for the weekend, cause Crystal went to a wedding in swift current. I enjoys it.. yesterday, I went to my classes, i was a good gyal, and I went to chapel as well! I was really behaving.. On Friday night, i pretty much just chilled and did nothing, I stole mike's computer and wrote out my intro to the bible notes, cause they were gettin messy in my notebook. So then me and shaunna painted our toenails and it was fun.. So I did that, then I had the best sleep ever, cause I closed the blinds, and didnt have the lights from the surrounding buildings in my face. most of the time, there is too much junk infront of the curtians for me to even be able to reach the cord thing. But Crystal cleaned up before she left, so I could get to it, it made my sleep really good. ANNNND Yeah. I woke up this morning and mike said he would drive me to the store, but he was smart and left his lights on in the car all night, and so his battery was dead as a doornail.. (how dead is that?)
So we walked to the co-op, i got what i needed, and then i spent the rest of the morning typing stuff up on my new account on my brothers computer. ha ha, he doesnt know i made myself an account yet, he thinks i just made a folder on his desktop, but to be honest, i got sick of looking at his background, and so i made my own account, and for now, johnny depp is the background.. what a hottie. LOL!
So this afternoon, I spent about four hours walking and riding the C-Train around calgary with about 20 people, we had to follow these clues to find these people with cow udders (inflated rubber gloves) and take them with us.. the team with the most cows won something. I didnt stick around to find out who won tho , cause i was tired, and i gots homework to do.. So i went home on the train with Troy and some other people, (Troy is mikes roomie) and yeah.. Then When i got home, me and Shaunna decided to make the most incredible dinner. We made Chicken cordon-bleu, Brocoli and Cheese sauce ( thanks to my grandmas advice) and stove-top stuffing, and salad.. it was oh so good.
Anyways.. now shaunna and I are going to go and watch Pirates of the Caribbean, it's gonna be great, cause we both love Johnny Depp and every time he comes on the screen, we're gonna be like.. AHHH!
So yeah!
Love you all very much, hope everythings grand.
You should write me sometime, it amuses me...
Love always:

Life as a laundry basket.
Well things here are average, but all in all, fairly boring. Having no money and no car sure puts a damper on ones spirit, or at least, on ones situation, eh?
The other day, I took a blast from the past, and we watched two episodes of "Jem and the Holligrams!" It was indeed eighties cartoons, complete with music video and all! HAHAHHAHA!
So yesterday, I started a paper that was due today, and about five minutes into it, Everyone decided to go to Valu Village, and so I went along for the ride, because I had nothing better to do.. I mean, who cares about a paper, right? Aside from that, I knew I'd get it done, so I headed out to valu village with Crystal, Allison and Eileen. It was a big waste of time, cause I didnt buy anything, and I didnt even see anything that would have remotely interested me anyways! But it was better, I suppose, than sitting around and doing homework.. So we got back around 4pm, we bieng me and crystal, because Allison and Eileen decided to go to the mall after Valu Village, and by that time, jimminy cricket had appeared on my shoulder, and I had to go back to my homework.. And Crystal felt the same way.. On the way back, It was sooo funny! We hopped off the C-Train and, while walking past crack max, saw a blatant drug deal happen. These guys ran off the train, and one handed the guy some money, and the other handed him a rather large bag full of weed. Crystal had never seen anything of the sort, and she was so shocked! I must say, those kids are certianly stupid, to deal drugs in broad daylight so blatantly! Silly young thugs.. actually... silly thug wannabes... That's what I meant to say..
So I got back, and just as I settled back into my routine, Mike came in and offered me the use of his laptop.. So after playing around with that for awhile, looking at my pictures off my CD, I finally got down to business, and soon realized that my paper wasn't as hard as I thought it was, when I wasn't focused on it.. Oh well. So I got that done, and then Allison and I decided that we were so sick of bieng in Res, so we went on the C-Train, for another random adventure, and we went to the end of the line, I can't remember which way, but it was a rather long way.. It wasnt that much of an adventure, no one approached us, no one was wierd.. It was boring! So we got off the C-Train, and looked at our watches, and realized that we were going to be late for curfew, so we booked it like mad, and when we got in the building, all the RA's and Chris were sitting in the lobby. I was freaked, I thought mabye they were waiting for us, but as we walked by, they all said "TEN SECONDS!"
It turns out that we got in with ten seconds to go before midnight, it was the most adventure-like thing that happened all night! HA HA!
So what else is new? I have to think now.. I'm in the process of doing my laundry, cause I really needed to, but it turns out these quarters I've got are american, and so they dont fit in the machines, which is really annoying, so I got gypped by a couple of bucks, by the washers and driers.. OH my word! What a disaster... Well, now that I think about it, it really is a disaster, cause Im poor now.. Arg.. Another ten minutes on the machines.. What should I talk about? Damn.. I realize I have nothing else to talk about, really. I had three classes today, which was draining.. Missions, Cultural perspectives, and Pentateuch.. Today in Pentateuch, we talked about the authorship of it, and how it affects so many people, and the different sides to the debate about who really wrote it.
Most of that time, I was sitting there thinking, who really cares who wrote it? Moses, or multiple authors, does it really matter? The fact of the matter is, the Pentateuch is a part of Gods Holy word, why should it matter to us who it was written by? The prof, at the end of the class, said that we will never know who wrote the Pentateuch, and I say better for it! I dont understand how the author of a part of the bible could be so detrimental to someones faith. The way I see it, God wrote the whole bible, not personally, of course, but He, through inspiration, wrote the book for us to read and share with the nations.. Does it matter through whom?
anyways, just a random vent..
Ummmm I havent got much else to say right now. It's gonna be a short blog.. cause im cold, and my laundrys done! So im going to go upstairs for now!
Love you all tons! !
Love forever: Shle

Hi, this is Ashley, and Welcome to adventures in Calgary!
So it started out ok, Intro to the bible.. four pages of notes, I just about died. Then I skipped chapel, but not on purpose, I just forgot about it, so I went to the Co-Op grocery store and got some stuff that should carry me thru to October at least. Anyways, then I had my Tim Moore class, which is always awesome, cause he's just such a funny guy.. Anyways.. Then I went upstairs to the library, and wrote a blog, which didn't work because the website decided to become "temporarily unavailable" when I pressed the publish button. Oh well..
Alas, I don't remember what I wrote about yesterday, so it cant've been all that important.. So after the library, we (being me and Crystal) headed to a phone and called to get our phone hooked up.. I'm so excited, it's gonna start working on Wednesday! ANYWAYS!
Then, back at the apartment, the three of us decided we were going to make a nice dinner, which we did.. We made chicken, Corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, and salad.. it turned out really really good. They thought I put too much garlic in the potatoes, I still think it could've used more.. But it's all good. Then we had oreo ice cream for dessert, and we all worked to clean the kitchen.. It was good fun. So around 8:30 I got bored, and decided to go on a random C-Train adventure.. So we went all the way to Whitehorn, which is the end of the line, it took about half an hour one way, half an hour back. When I was nearing the end of the line, I turned around and asked this guy if the train was going to turn around and head back downtown, or if I had to get on another train. When He started talking to me, I noticed that he had a very strong accent, tho I couldn't place what it was. I thanked him, and explained that I was very new to the area, and he said "no problem" and asked me where I was from. I told him,and he said "I just moved here from Paris a couple of months ago" and then asked me how old I was, and if I wanted him to drive me back downtown.. I politely declined.. Didn't think it would have been the best idea to get into some random's car.. So I didn't go with him.. lol.. We thought he was very amusing by the end of the train ride.. So you would think that this would be the end to my adventures..
Oh no.. Back in the res, it was bedtime.. I was asleep for a good five or so hours, when the RA, Catherine, came into the room . I woke up to her asking my roomie if I had been in my bed the whole time.. now I was thinking to myself.. what do you mean the whole time? Then she said to me "I need you to call your parents" And I was like. no, they'll be asleep! And she then told me that I've been considered missing for the past hour and a half, and I was like.. dude, I was sleeping. Apparently she had come into the room around one AM to check on us, and I didn't wake up when she asked if I was there. And apparently, Crystal said (in her sleep) that she didn't know where I was.. So, without looking in my bed, they assumed that I was gone and so they thought it would be a good idea to call my brother, in vermilion, and my parents.. Who FREAKED out.. Mom was ready to get on a plane, and mike was about to drive home from vermilion..This whole time, I'm sound asleep in my bed.. So I get all this thru my head, and called my parents.. Told them that I was in bed the whole time, assured them that I would not be doing anything stupid such as being out way past curfew.. It was quite the adventure.. so stupid tho, Like.. Couldn't they have moved the covers aside, or at least turned on the light to LOOK? Before CALLING MY PARENTS at one in the morning and freaking them out? Honestly!
So yeah, I managed to get back to sleep after that, and slept in this morning to a nice hour. Then I woke up and started making bacon and hashbrowns for me, Crystal and this other girl, who lives across the hall, Stephanie. After that, we went to Sait Gym, and went swimming for a good hour or so, with our new handy dandy gym passes.. It was fun.. But It was pouring rain! So on the way back, it was all wet and stuff.. Anyways, this little baby was in the seat behind me on the C-Train, when I say baby, I mean, like a year and a half old.. and anyways, he was so cute, I talked to him, cause he tapped me on the shoulder and said hi.. it was soooo cute! And yeah! So When We got back from the gym, I had a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner, and re-wrote my notes from intro to the Bible, cause they were a mess. SO yeah.. Then I got bored with Vibe98 FM, so I randomly tried to find a radio station, and stumbled upon 91fm, A REGGAE RADIO STATION! it made my day, all the sudden, I was going thru the stations, and heard Sizzla, which is really nice reggae, it's not like the crazy dancehall, sean paul type of reggae, but more like the bob marley, peter tosh, and jah cure kind of reggae. I know this doesn't make alot of sense to you, but it's a great station. They even played some Luciano, who I love.. ANYWAYS!!!
So now, here I am.. Bored outta my skull, and writing bloggness to you..
I havent much else to say to you tonight, as I am getting kind of exhausted.. I bet it's the rain that does it to me.. It works every time.. Anyways.. Tomorrow I'm going to foothills alliance church, I'm quite excited about it.. Should be great! I hope that everyones weekends are going well so far! I'll write again soon!
Love you forever!
Love Shle

A good question indeed.
Anyways, after that, I went home for a few hours, because I didnt have another class until 2:30.. So me, Shaunna, and Crystal went to the co-op for no reason at all, but before we could get there, this train decided to cross the road where we had to walk to get there, so we were standing there for like 10 minutes , watching this 122 car train go by.. yep, i counted.
So I tried to make a couple of phone calls, but no one was home, and i didnt figure it out until on my way back to the res that everyone was probably in school.. Im not too smart.. oh well.
Sooo then, me and Crystal headed back to the school for our second class of the day, the one I was most looking forward to, Intro to Christian Spirituality, with Rev.Tim Moore.
One of the reasons i was looking forward to it, is becasue Tim moore is a hilarious guy, and cause i knew he'd have lots of stories to tell me about my brother.. True enough, he looked at me, and said "I have a story to tell you about your brother, wanna hear?" and he told me this funny story that im not going to share with you till I check with my brother. But anyways..
I am really excited about this class. It started right off the bat, when Tim asked a really thought provoking question.
"Why are you a christian?"
at first, my thought was .. well.. I've always been. When Tim asked a boy in class, he basically said what i thought, and thenTim goes.. "That's not good enough"
So I started thinking more.. Why am I a christian? Is it cause it's such a good deal? I mean, think about it, eternity in heaven! Mabye it's cause I need something to believe in.. and it's there. Mabye it's because god is so good. But then again, my life hasnt been perfect. So that's not the answer. Then I thought, mabye because it's the easy thing to do. But that's not true, bieng a Christian is so hard, especially today. So now here I am, stuck trying to figure out why the heck I am a christian! I've come to the conclustion that I am a Christian simply because Jesus chose me, not because I choseHim. Im not sure were else to go with that, but I realize that the farther we go in discussion in that particular class, the more I will come to the answers, the ones that Tim said are already inside of us, we just don't know how to express them.
So yeah, that's random, but it makes me really excited for the classes. And there's a chance that I might get to go to Coasta Rica! it's for this thing called Intersession, and I might get to go there to visit this crisis pregnancy centre, and help the young girls there, aged 13-18.. and help them with their little babies and stuff.
anyways, I will talk more about that another time, at the moment, people are waiting to use the computers, so im going to go.. Just know that all is well with me so far, so no worries!
love to you all!

A Really nice view
How's life treating you?
Well, today is my second day in a new environment, Calgary, Alberta. I finally met my other roommate, Shaunna, she seems really nice, tho I haven't really talked to her for long enough to tell you about her.
Today, I went shopping with my brother/protector/tourguide, and I got some textbooks. It was an interesting experience, I bought eight books today, mike has two of them that I need, and I am going to talk to my professor about the bible I may need to purchase, and see if, perhaps, I can avoid buying it, cause bibles are expensive, and my mom just bought me a new bible before I left. Either way, Im excited about
So some of my books are like absoloutely huge! I got one called "Handbook to the bible", one called "Intro to World Missions" , one called "bieng the Body" and also a "Dictionary of the Old Testament" .. those books are humongus.. Then there's some other ones, which are smaller, and not hard cover, but are also looking interesting. I actually can't wait until i start reading them.
Uhhh what else. Oh today, I bought some thumb tacks, so I got to put up a small bulliten board, upon which I have hung all my crosses. It's feeling more and more like home, only a bit tho, Calgary will never ever replace Vancouver as home. It's like.. well.. home!
So where we live is a very noisy part of Calgary.. See, Calgary is huge! But the res and the school are downtown Calgary, like the part with all the highrises, and the thugs and gangsters, and all night there are sirens going off, people skateboarding down the streets, or alot of wind making frightening noises. But it's gonna be great, this is just one huge adventure.
Ummmm I havent got much else to say, but dont you worry, cause it's only just begun!
I'll be writing alot more now, so yeah! Be ready!
Love to you all,
Love forever

Distant faces with no place left to go
Without you within me I can't find no rest
Where I'm going is anybody's guess
I've tried to go on like I never knew you
I'm awake but my world is half asleep
I pray for this heart to be unbroken
But without you all I'm going to be is incomplete"
