Hi, this is Ashley, and Welcome to adventures in Calgary!

ha ha, you wouldn't believe the day/night I had yesterday..
So it started out ok, Intro to the bible.. four pages of notes, I just about died. Then I skipped chapel, but not on purpose, I just forgot about it, so I went to the Co-Op grocery store and got some stuff that should carry me thru to October at least. Anyways, then I had my Tim Moore class, which is always awesome, cause he's just such a funny guy.. Anyways.. Then I went upstairs to the library, and wrote a blog, which didn't work because the website decided to become "temporarily unavailable" when I pressed the publish button. Oh well..
Alas, I don't remember what I wrote about yesterday, so it cant've been all that important.. So after the library, we (being me and Crystal) headed to a phone and called to get our phone hooked up.. I'm so excited, it's gonna start working on Wednesday! ANYWAYS!
Then, back at the apartment, the three of us decided we were going to make a nice dinner, which we did.. We made chicken, Corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, and salad.. it turned out really really good. They thought I put too much garlic in the potatoes, I still think it could've used more.. But it's all good. Then we had oreo ice cream for dessert, and we all worked to clean the kitchen.. It was good fun. So around 8:30 I got bored, and decided to go on a random C-Train adventure.. So we went all the way to Whitehorn, which is the end of the line, it took about half an hour one way, half an hour back. When I was nearing the end of the line, I turned around and asked this guy if the train was going to turn around and head back downtown, or if I had to get on another train. When He started talking to me, I noticed that he had a very strong accent, tho I couldn't place what it was. I thanked him, and explained that I was very new to the area, and he said "no problem" and asked me where I was from. I told him,and he said "I just moved here from Paris a couple of months ago" and then asked me how old I was, and if I wanted him to drive me back downtown.. I politely declined.. Didn't think it would have been the best idea to get into some random's car.. So I didn't go with him.. lol.. We thought he was very amusing by the end of the train ride.. So you would think that this would be the end to my adventures..

Oh no.. Back in the res, it was bedtime.. I was asleep for a good five or so hours, when the RA, Catherine, came into the room . I woke up to her asking my roomie if I had been in my bed the whole time.. now I was thinking to myself.. what do you mean the whole time? Then she said to me "I need you to call your parents" And I was like. no, they'll be asleep! And she then told me that I've been considered missing for the past hour and a half, and I was like.. dude, I was sleeping. Apparently she had come into the room around one AM to check on us, and I didn't wake up when she asked if I was there. And apparently, Crystal said (in her sleep) that she didn't know where I was.. So, without looking in my bed, they assumed that I was gone and so they thought it would be a good idea to call my brother, in vermilion, and my parents.. Who FREAKED out.. Mom was ready to get on a plane, and mike was about to drive home from vermilion..This whole time, I'm sound asleep in my bed.. So I get all this thru my head, and called my parents.. Told them that I was in bed the whole time, assured them that I would not be doing anything stupid such as being out way past curfew.. It was quite the adventure.. so stupid tho, Like.. Couldn't they have moved the covers aside, or at least turned on the light to LOOK? Before CALLING MY PARENTS at one in the morning and freaking them out? Honestly!
So yeah, I managed to get back to sleep after that, and slept in this morning to a nice hour. Then I woke up and started making bacon and hashbrowns for me, Crystal and this other girl, who lives across the hall, Stephanie. After that, we went to Sait Gym, and went swimming for a good hour or so, with our new handy dandy gym passes.. It was fun.. But It was pouring rain! So on the way back, it was all wet and stuff.. Anyways, this little baby was in the seat behind me on the C-Train, when I say baby, I mean, like a year and a half old.. and anyways, he was so cute, I talked to him, cause he tapped me on the shoulder and said hi.. it was soooo cute! And yeah! So When We got back from the gym, I had a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner, and re-wrote my notes from intro to the Bible, cause they were a mess. SO yeah.. Then I got bored with Vibe98 FM, so I randomly tried to find a radio station, and stumbled upon 91fm, A REGGAE RADIO STATION! it made my day, all the sudden, I was going thru the stations, and heard Sizzla, which is really nice reggae, it's not like the crazy dancehall, sean paul type of reggae, but more like the bob marley, peter tosh, and jah cure kind of reggae. I know this doesn't make alot of sense to you, but it's a great station. They even played some Luciano, who I love.. ANYWAYS!!!
So now, here I am.. Bored outta my skull, and writing bloggness to you..
I havent much else to say to you tonight, as I am getting kind of exhausted.. I bet it's the rain that does it to me.. It works every time.. Anyways.. Tomorrow I'm going to foothills alliance church, I'm quite excited about it.. Should be great! I hope that everyones weekends are going well so far! I'll write again soon!
