Afternoon everyone, how are things?
Well things here are average, but all in all, fairly boring. Having no money and no car sure puts a damper on ones spirit, or at least, on ones situation, eh?
The other day, I took a blast from the past, and we watched two episodes of "Jem and the Holligrams!" It was indeed eighties cartoons, complete with music video and all! HAHAHHAHA!
So yesterday, I started a paper that was due today, and about five minutes into it, Everyone decided to go to Valu Village, and so I went along for the ride, because I had nothing better to do.. I mean, who cares about a paper, right? Aside from that, I knew I'd get it done, so I headed out to valu village with Crystal, Allison and Eileen. It was a big waste of time, cause I didnt buy anything, and I didnt even see anything that would have remotely interested me anyways! But it was better, I suppose, than sitting around and doing homework.. So we got back around 4pm, we bieng me and crystal, because Allison and Eileen decided to go to the mall after Valu Village, and by that time, jimminy cricket had appeared on my shoulder, and I had to go back to my homework.. And Crystal felt the same way.. On the way back, It was sooo funny! We hopped off the C-Train and, while walking past crack max, saw a blatant drug deal happen. These guys ran off the train, and one handed the guy some money, and the other handed him a rather large bag full of weed. Crystal had never seen anything of the sort, and she was so shocked! I must say, those kids are certianly stupid, to deal drugs in broad daylight so blatantly! Silly young thugs.. actually... silly thug wannabes... That's what I meant to say..
So I got back, and just as I settled back into my routine, Mike came in and offered me the use of his laptop.. So after playing around with that for awhile, looking at my pictures off my CD, I finally got down to business, and soon realized that my paper wasn't as hard as I thought it was, when I wasn't focused on it.. Oh well. So I got that done, and then Allison and I decided that we were so sick of bieng in Res, so we went on the C-Train, for another random adventure, and we went to the end of the line, I can't remember which way, but it was a rather long way.. It wasnt that much of an adventure, no one approached us, no one was wierd.. It was boring! So we got off the C-Train, and looked at our watches, and realized that we were going to be late for curfew, so we booked it like mad, and when we got in the building, all the RA's and Chris were sitting in the lobby. I was freaked, I thought mabye they were waiting for us, but as we walked by, they all said "TEN SECONDS!"
It turns out that we got in with ten seconds to go before midnight, it was the most adventure-like thing that happened all night! HA HA!
So what else is new? I have to think now.. I'm in the process of doing my laundry, cause I really needed to, but it turns out these quarters I've got are american, and so they dont fit in the machines, which is really annoying, so I got gypped by a couple of bucks, by the washers and driers.. OH my word! What a disaster... Well, now that I think about it, it really is a disaster, cause Im poor now.. Arg.. Another ten minutes on the machines.. What should I talk about? Damn.. I realize I have nothing else to talk about, really. I had three classes today, which was draining.. Missions, Cultural perspectives, and Pentateuch.. Today in Pentateuch, we talked about the authorship of it, and how it affects so many people, and the different sides to the debate about who really wrote it.
Most of that time, I was sitting there thinking, who really cares who wrote it? Moses, or multiple authors, does it really matter? The fact of the matter is, the Pentateuch is a part of Gods Holy word, why should it matter to us who it was written by? The prof, at the end of the class, said that we will never know who wrote the Pentateuch, and I say better for it! I dont understand how the author of a part of the bible could be so detrimental to someones faith. The way I see it, God wrote the whole bible, not personally, of course, but He, through inspiration, wrote the book for us to read and share with the nations.. Does it matter through whom?
anyways, just a random vent..
Ummmm I havent got much else to say right now. It's gonna be a short blog.. cause im cold, and my laundrys done! So im going to go upstairs for now!
Love you all tons! !
Love forever: Shle

Children hurtin you hear them crying
Can you practice what you preach
Would you turn the other cheek?
Father Father Father help us
Send some guidance from above

Lolo,
I agree with you. Authorship is not that important, i mean it doesn't affect what i believe. But for so long authorship of the penteteauch was attributed to Moses, that people thought it was sacrilgious when people began questioning it. Also, authorship is important, because it helps us understand the context with which it was written. For instance, if Joshua wrote the Pent. then we would understand it differantly because Joshua writes from a differant perspective then Moses or anyone else for that matter. Though it is inspired, There are still aspects of the authers personality and experiance in the text that they wrote, otherwise it would just be dictated. The Bible says what God wants it to say, but it is said through the hearts of those people who wrote it. Does this make sense?
Also your roomate Crystal just walked in, thought i'd mention that. I'm in the library.
