Tiny Smiles

Hello To you all out there in internet land. What's new? Well, today was fairly average, I went to school as usual, had all the usual classes, it was good fun. Then, I came home, and checked the mail. Suprise of all suprises, there was a letter from me! It was addressed by my cousin Nicole (I can tell her handwriting) but from Coleton! I opened it to find a short but sweet little letter, with a cross made out of some sort of straw. It made my day. Then I read the letter again, and Realized that it was the exact same letter I had sent him awhile back, except the "big Cousin Ashley" was changed to "little cousin Coleton" . It absoloutely made my day. It was so sweet! I love you very much coleton! You made my day super cool!

Then, I changed the music on my Mp3 player, and headed on a walk to the cove. I'll be honest, I had an alterior motive, I wasn't just going on a random walk. It was a beautiful day, though, and If I didnt already have plans to meet with Duane, I might've gone on a random walk anyways. SO YEAH! I got to the cove, and went into the store that I used to visit every week as an elementary school child. Yep. The corner store. Walking around in the cove brought back memories of Grade seven, and Chillen with Claudia and Aleta back in the day. Those were the days. I got some candy, (which I've just realized is still in my backpack! wicked!) and then headed over to Honey's doughnuts, where I was supposed to meet Duane in ten minutes. (for those of you who don't know, Duane is the Youth Pastor from North Shore Alliance Church) So as I was sitting there, outside Honeys, I was looking out at the DC mountians and the ocean, and just thinking about random things. All of the sudden, this little boy walked by with his mommy, and just smiled at me, and said "hello!"

I've realized something. Children, above all other creatures on this earth, have an amazing gift. It's called love. Children are God's gift to us, even teenagers. Two children are what made my day today. Two children who are full to the brim with the love of Christ, even if they know not who he is. Who else do you know who will walk by and say hello to a random? I don't know alot of people my age who would do that. Or alot of people who would even make eye contact with a stranger, a small smile.
Think about it. When was the last time that you smiled or said hello to someone on the street? Just randomly. Someone you didnt know. What about someone who looked down? Well it made my day. Mabye if we all would reach out, offer a simple smile to someone out there, who knows what kind of impact it might have? It might (and I know I'm bieng dramatic here, but seriously) save someone's life one day.
And also, how amazing would it feel to just go around and smile? Or to say a kind word to someone you've never met. Could this world possibly become a better place ? It sure can, and we have the power to do that. Don't think that just because you are young, that you can't have an impact on this world. Dont think that because you are older, that you can't do it. If it were up to everyone else, then what would the purpose be?It's up to you and me. *Shrugs*
I dunno, I just thought that mabye more people could use a friendly smile once in awhile. I know that it made my day. Imagine what it would do for others?
Just a few thoughts.
Anyways, so now Im gonna go eat some spagetti, hope your evening is amazing. I love you all!
love forever: Shle
xoxo

without my wings I feel so small
I guess I need you baby
And every time I see you in my dreams
I see your face, you're haunting me
I guess I need you baby"
